Suzhou Gold Vase

Named after the beautiful city of Suzhou, this vase was inspired by the Chinese love of red and gold. The technique of layering these materials was developed in our workshop over a hand-hammered copper vase. China adores red and gold because red symbolizes good luck, joy, and prosperity, while gold represents wealth and nobility. Historically, red was established as a lucky color by the Han Dynasty and is linked to the fire element in Taoism. Gold signifies wealth and was historically associated with imperial authority and luxury, making the combination a powerful symbol of good fortune, wealth, and celebration.
