Alexander Lamont grew up with objects, folkart and antiques from around the world; small things that expressed the skills of the craftsman and the materials they were made from. Objects can be fine or raw, simple or complex, but the way they are made is important to us. These boxes are simple but very beautiful. They show the light and colour possible in straw. The straw is applied expertly onto a lovely well-made box.
