Contour Vase

The contour vase is a study of the landscape in miniature. Alluvial plains of lacquer are built up over weeks on a natural undulating surface and once fully cured are sanded to reveal the layers. The final polish brings out the colour and subtle texture of this small sculptural vase that intrigues from all sides. Made in the Alexander Lamont lacquer studio by Fine Art graduates who bring individual character to each vase.
